AIR Architectural Design Competition

Located near Kuching International Airport and Saradise, AIR is planned as a new connected destination for Kuching. The masterplan focuses on improving access and connectivity, integrating existing water features with the landscape, and supporting the community’s future needs. Inspired by the theme of air and water, the design adopts “Mist” as its main concept. Like mist, the plan softens boundaries between buildings, public spaces, nature and water. A network of open and flexible spaces encourages movement, interaction and gradual growth. This adaptable approach allows the development to evolve over time, creating a resilient urban community that remains connected to its natural surroundings.
