Bukit Chagar MRT Facade Design Competition

Lines of Intersection reimagines Bukit Chagar RTS Link Station’s facade as a civic interface that expresses Johor–Singapore relations. A sequence of planar walls, each representing domains like culture, economy and governance, interlock and soften into curvilinear edges that reference Johor’s local identity. Multiple overlapping steel skeletal frames create depth and rhythm across the elevation, supporting glass, aluminium panels, louvers and photovoltaic roofing. The layered, performative envelope is structurally legible, climate-responsive and visually dynamic, transforming the station into a symbolic, collaborative threshold and future-facing, resonant infrastructure.
