Weida Steel Factory Kuching

The Weida Steel Industries factory at Demak Laut Industrial Park, Kuching, was renovated from an abandoned furniture factory into a contemporary steel manufacturing facility with an integrated showroom and a three-storey front office block. A new vertical steel screen envelope replaces the previous classical facade to reinforce corporate identity, animate the streetscape, and provide solar shading, ventilation, daylight filtration and privacy. The office block accommodates public, client and administrative functions while manufacturing is retained behind, clarifying circulation and zoning. The screen’s geometry is derived from the company logo and uses standard industrial components, enabling an economical, practical, and visually dynamic facade.
